I wash it first. Let it dry. Either way there will be water spotes or smears. Take it home for a good ol air dry. Then park it in the yard and put some Mothers wax and use alot of elbow greese! Than i take some flat black spray paint and spray my ram underneathe, keep it looking clean. Than do my tires with the Black magic tire foam! Ultra nice when its wet!!! deep wet shine! O well thats what i do and people compliment the **** out of it when its clean.

I have had black cars since the 80s, I cannot give you a secret recipe, but I can tell you what I use.
1) Clay Bar.
2) CarBrite (Black Pearl), i did use PowerPak from them, but this has nice levels depending on swirls scratches etc.
3) The next step i switch up. I either use CarBrite Crystal Shine, 3M Finishing Glaze or P21-S.
4) depenign on if I need to deepen the shine or just protect from scratches, I use P21-S to make it shiny (multiple coats) or followup weekly with ButterWax from Car Brite.
I used Car Brite (www.carbrite.com) because it was made in indianapolis, and wa seasy to aquire while i was living there. I just ordered some Dri-wash from the guy on these boards to try out. I will report back after I use it.
I know it is not a Ranger, but here is my current black car.

i dont have a black ranger but i did have a black mustang. It is a pain to keep them nice. just clean it when you have a special event i use adams detail kit i bought at bandimere speedway. my bucket seals good and i love it. i threw my meguires in the trash. My opinion house of wax or adams polish is the only stuff to use
we use to detail truck and i had over spray all over my mustang but it took it off easyier than any clay bay i use. you will love it. http://www.adamspolishes.com/c-12-detail-kits.aspx
