armor-all car wash soap!
Went to wash my cars tonight and realized i was out of soap :( lol. Unfortunaely the store was out of Meguiars(which i ALWAYS use). All they had was some armor-all soap so i grabbed it. WOW am i impressed! Sadly my cars have been neglected since it's been rainy. This stuff seriously is awesome! cuts the bugs and tar like no other! Might have changed my mind about meguiars!

It has been snowing off and on here (never more than 2", usually a dusting) for two weeks and they have salted like crazy every single day, even the back roads. They even come down the end of my dead end road every night and dump salt everywhere.
I took my truck to the car wash today and pressure washed the underside since it is already gathering more rust. I then ran it through the wash and realized that the paint (all over the truck) is covered in rust spots. I mean BAD, like every couple inches on the back and sides is a good rust spot. It looks worse after two weeks than it did after all of last winter, exterior paint and underneath the truck. So I hand washed it and scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed. No luck. You can scratch it off with a fingernail but it doesn't scrub off. It is already going to have to be ALL buffed off. It took me two days to get it cleaned up last year, this year is going to be worse. I hate this place!
Oh and on topic, I haven't used the armor all wash. I always use Meguiars gold class wash. Works well for me. When I have a lot of tar and stuff on the rockers I'll spray a little simple green on them first and it really helps.

no salt here thank goodness! I feel for ya. here they just get REALLY crazy with that de-icer chemical crap. no rust but clear coat on wheels is gone in a few days lol.

I never had a problem with that, and I almost never saw them use the magnesium chloride (I think it is). Still, that stuff is far less damaging than salting constantly. A big piece of paint came off my front bumper and it is already a good sized rust spot, pisses me off. I'm going to have to paint the whole underside of the truck some how, and now the bumper needs it too.

Becasue i live in Michigan, we have salt from the Detroit salt mines (yes, they still mine) and that stuff is nasty. I have the heated garage at work and i always spray my truck off in the morning becasue i just recently put a new bed on my truck and this is the first winter its ever seen, but i always use this
