besidces teh obvious K&N, i have no idea haha
alot of help you are alan
hey, i had a suggestion didnt i?
your not gonna find pulleys, so dont even try lol
apprently they dont like us 2.3 guys |
i guess not, seems like all they have is junk for the 4.0L guys
i have a drop in filter, i was thinking the K&N FIPK, my friend wont go for it with what they charge |
im getting one soon i hope
xcal tuner, 2.5" catback exhaust with a flow thru muffler would probably help most
would any of the common mods to the Mazda 3's 2.3 work on it? theres always a turbo:biggthump
besides selling it? not much for you duratech guys. Stick with the 2.5/2.3 found in the 2001.5 and earlier. Then turbo it. about all you can do that is worth doing.
actually after driving it for a few days, its pretty damn quick for a 4 banger... i think its that DOHC :fing26:

Most of the mods that work on a Mazda3 and a Focus are FWD platform specific, so no, we just get screwed. But yeah, a DOHC Duratech stock runs almost as strong as a stock TURBO 2.3 Lima. Heck it'll even beat some 4.0s! But really, do the airbox mod, drop in filter, cat back 2.5" pipe with high flow mufler, and Xcal3. if you get the Xcal from BamaChips, adjust the global timing +2 degrees, and the rpm adjustable timing +4 0-2000, +4 2000-4000, +2 4000-6000, and the WOT fuel +2%. This will make a huge difference. |
sounds like after i get my intake and drop done, a tuner is on my list
My tips won't work with yours, you have the slow motor.
i mean in general i want a tuner. and :fing26: about the slow motor
you think the 2.3 is bad try the 3.0L... they even discontinued our S/C...

Robbie has the 23NS The 23NS is built in Dearborn, Michigan for the Ford Ranger and North American market Mazda B-Series. These engines are tuned for torque-bias making them suitable for light-truck use and are not equipped with VVT or VICS. Output is 143 hp (107 kW) at 5250 rpm with 154 ft·lbf (209 N·m) of torque at 3750 rpm. |
yes but teh lima goes zoom zoom with the 225 tires at 3.73 gears haha
just need a turbo for mad hawzzzpowaaaa |
It goes zoom zoom, but you're still close enough for me to hear it on the side lines. When I hit it, I'm outa earshot before the second zoom.
and my 3.0L, well it gets teh job done.
