I was just curious who's got the highest miles on a 2.3L 2001 or newer engine? I've got a used 2002 with only 15k miles and I was wondering if anybody has got over 100 to 150k miles yet? If so, what oil and filter have you used and what kind of duty has your Ranger seen?

 

My 2002 has only 50k

 

my 02 has around 69k

 

my 01 has 42k

 

01 66k

 

Any of you folks had any reliability issues? How has your engine ran? Any areas of the 2.3 that seem prone to wearing or replacement?

 

Under warranty the transmission yoke was replaced, not much since then.

 

my 03 has 70k and still runs great. no problems ever. i just run synthetic oil changed every 5000mi, MAX. just keep the maintinance up on it.

 

Great! So far it looks like this engine is a good one. I hope it'll last well over 150k miles.

 

there was a guy named citoriplus who had a 2001 either 2.3 or 2.5, with an astonishing 300,000 miles on it! (the guy drove nearly 1000 miles a week...)

 

i got 02 with 145,000

 

02 here i got 135K on it i just replaced the thermostat on it needs brakes but they are the original brakes on it so that can tell ya something.

 

56k now, front brakes replaced and new battery..

 

i have the 145,000 i have replaced the cooling system, and the altinator... (spelling not my best subject)
