Camshaft Position Sensor??

Recently got a 2002 Ranger 2.3L 4cyl. Had problems with oil in the #2 and #3 plug holes. Decided to go ahead and change the valve cover gasket, and now my check engine light came on and Advance said its pulling a camshaft position sensor for the code. Problem is the truck seems to be sucking air when you get on the gas and will hesitiate before it goes and causes it to jerk as it starts rolling and cruising at lower rpms does it too. Wondering if anyone has had this prob and what ideas you might have (mainly if the camshaft position sensor could cause this) Thanks for the Help. Jason

Despite having a cam sensor code, it sounds like a vacuum line is off or cracked.
