Electric fan ideas retaining AC fan
 

Wondering if anyone here has installed aftermarket electric fan retaining the fan shroud and AC condensor fan on a Duratec?

i put an electric fan on and put a puller on the same side as the stock fan and kept my shroud and my ac condenser.

I don't think that is the same as the 2.3l. It already has one electric fan inside the shroud for the AC. Only gives about 4.5" of room to mount a main electric fan. I really would like to keep the factory AC fan so there would be a back up for cooling.

I am good. Installed a Perma-Cool 18" electric fan in the shroud leaving the stock AC fan in place!

It probably is overkill since I don't think it has come on but maybe twice in two summers! It does fit very good though!

I know this is a two year thread but I'm wondering if the op still is using the electric fan? Do you happen to know the model number?

Yes I am still using it. The model number is 19117. I don't know when the last time I have actually heard it run though. I twist the controller adjustment knob all the way to the low temp side to check it every so often. It still works.
