buddy at school has a 5.0 mustang, one of those new one like a 2009. He runs a chip (idk brand) but swears it does something. I dont think it does. But if this ad is right...well...GEESUS that would be incredible just by adding a little plastic tuner

Ufgh. No. These have been on ebay for years.

They are garbage, they do nothing.

If I can find the article I was reading about these sometime back ill post it.

The kid i nthe mustang has a 2011 if it's a 5.0, 4.6 otherwise. He probably has some sort of tune.

Just looked into it and found all they do is trick the computer into thinking it's cold so it runs richer, giving you the added power if any. Local shop I know told me a way to do it one time but forgot how, looks like someone marketed it now. Hahaha!!!

you can make it yourself for 2 dollars with resistors at radio shack.

The "idea" of a chip work in any car.

The principle is to bypass emissions components and unnecessary test and junk that holds the engine back and gives you a few added horses and burns gas better yada yada.

In theory they sound awesome but then again nothing runs like a factory vehicle.

You can trick your IAT to believe its cold outside and that will give the as much or more than this chip would. Thats the resistor trick. But save the 100-200-300-400$ and get better truck equipment.

Yeah I suppose there is no chip/programmer that really will give you any real gains.

what?

the 'chip' that they are talking about this thread only makes the computer think its -23049872309482 degrees out and it runs rich as ****. it doesnt bypass any emissions equipment.

tuners, change timing, fuel, trans shift points (if auto) and stuff like that. It still doesnt bypass emissions equipment.

all that thing is; is a resistor it hooks up to the IAT and changes the resistance, bassically telling the PCM that it incoming air is 40* instead of 100*
