Zero compression on cyl 3 duratec 2.3

Bought a truck site unseen with what was told to me a bad engine. I had to take care of a sensor issue to get it to run like it should. Well It ran real rough and I knew it was missing. Pulled the plugs and all were good except 3. It was covered in oil. Found my miss. Did compression test on and 1,2,4 all good and 3 was ZERO. I hooked a air line to the compression gauge and tried to fill the chamber. I could tell the air was coming out the exhaust only. I rotated the engine a few times and still came out of the exhaust. So I either have a stuck open exhaust valve or its bent.
Is there a way I can take the valve cover off and tell if its stuck open easily?
This truck has sat up for over 2 years so I am hoping for a miracle on the stuck valve.
I started this post as the other I had opened had already been answered and I did not want to have it bogged down.

Yeap. Rod broke into and ripped off the crank. Punched hole in block. It still ran, just missed real bad and had a vibration. Smoothed out at 3000k,.....
I like how the long block is put togther, DO NOT like how they put wires and hoses everywhere. Some of these hoses go from one side of block to other with at least 4 sections of hose and 4 hose clamps. Must have been a assembly line reason for the sectioning of the hoses. Cause one long piece would work.

Pulled engine, installed a newer one. Biggest pain in butt was lining up the torque converter studs with the flywheel. And the O2 sensor on the bellhousing reconnection. After that all went pretty smooth.
