Hello,

I have a friend with a 2004 Ford Ranger w/2.3L engine that recently started making an obnoxious clicking noise in the engine compartment.

Searching the forum suggested it might be fuel injectors, but I'm not entirely convinced.

I've uploaded a video w/audio that will show you the noises I am talking about!

Sounds like something is hitting something. Check the clutch fan. If you can get a long screw driver put the metal end of random items under the hood and put your ear on the plastic piece and do this til you pin point the noise.

BTW the injector would be my last thought!
