2.3 efan

Would it be ok to remove the oem efan and mechanical fan and replace with a flex-a-lite flx-150. The truck is a 2008, 5 speed, 2.3l. Not sure why Ford added the electric fan in conjunction with the mechanical one. Possible due to overheating issues and an all aluminum engine??

Cheers
Paul

which one sounds like a better fit? (# i mean. i was looking at the 40 but you two say 150 180?)

Edit. (40 1500 cfm $209) (150 2500 cfm $205) (180 3300 cfm $309)

For some reason the 40 is more expensive than the 150 which is better.

the cheapest and easiest way to go is just remove the factory clutch fan and leave the factory electric fan on it.......it never gets hot unless you leave it idling for a good 15 min or more and in that case just turn the heater/a/c on and the relay kicks the electric fan on and boom down goes the temp back to stock
