No power After Crank
No power After Crank
Hello Longtime lurker; I have a 94 Mazda B2300 that almost has 400k miles on it and has been in my family longterm.
After work my truck started just fine then on my way home I stopped to get groceries.
When I returned to the truck and went to crank the ignition I lost all power (no dash lights either). I tried switching relays around and checking for burned fuses to no avail.
I disconnected the battery and reconnected it after a couple minutes I finally got power back with a CEL while in the ON position.
The OBD1 threw the code 512; with no other error codes. When I try to crank it just loses power instantly after the starter clicks like once or twice.
After reading a bunch of forum post looking for similar problems I pulled my EEC (PCM) hoping there was some noticeable damage but both the components and circuit board look pristine.
I understand electrical components can be botched without looking damaged but is there anything else I am forgetting to check before I start chucking new parts at it.
The battery is brand new along with relatively new starter, power coils, spark plugs, alternator, and ICM. The ignition was replaced like 6 years ago after the truck was stolen.
I cant find any obvious signs of corrosion or bad connections has anyone else ran into a similar problem?
