Towing Heavy Weight

I have a friend of mine with a 20" Aluminum Center Console Bayboat with a 115HP and Aluminum trailer. He doesnt get to take it out often between work, school and a new baby so it asked me to take it to run it.

He lives about 3 miles from my house and the launch is about .5 mile from my house.

I towed it to my house and from mine to the launch and back to his. The truck didnt seam to like towing it at all. It would barely make it to speed on the highway. I will not tow any farther than what i did.

Should i have to worry about towing it the short distances like i do? Tranny temp never got over 185*

it didnt get up to speed becuase you engine is too small. if you had a 4.0 it would be a diffrent story

who said you were racing? when i said powerband i meant your rpms might have been too low and that is why you were struggling.

agreed about the 4.0L comment. if you are gonna be towing this alot for your friend maybe look into swapping a 8.8 w/a different gear rartio back there. going from 3.55s to 3.73s would def. be an improvment.

I didnt mean the drag racing comment to be towards you, i just meant that i was just driving slowly and yes im sure you are correct that i was out of the powerband. And BTW i have 4.10 gears.
