01 ranger rear end servicd

I BOUGHT A 2001 RANGER WITH 4.0 AND AUTO TRANSMISSION.
CAN THE REAR END FLUID BE CHANGED OR IS IT PERMANENTLY SEALED. I LOOKED AT IT AND I DON'T SEE A DRAIN PLUG ANYWHERE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT IN THE MORNING TO GET IT SERVICED. TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF I NEED TO CANCLE THE APPOINTMENT. THANKS.

You have to remove the rear pan cover to drop the fluid. There is a plug on the front for putting fluid in.

No problem. When they put the pan back on, they can either put a new gasket on or use silicone. I would suggest silicone but make sure it has some kind of heat resistance.

ARE YOU YELLING!? lol.... Caps lock off please.

Yeah, 10 bolts on the cover and the cover comes off. Clean up the mating surfaces with brake cleaner, apply silocone to the cover, bolt it up back. Fill hole is on the front driverside of the pumpkin. Fill it up with 80w90 til it dribbles out the fill hole. Then done!

Also, you may need the Limited Slip additive if you have a limited slip
