05 auto trans fluid change, 3.0

05 auto trans fluid change, 3.0

Quick question, could I just start the vehicle for about 30 sec or so to drain the converter with the pan off?

No.

The converter doesn't have a Pump inside, some fluid would come out but wouldn't drain the torque converter dry, and other parts would be "running dry" during that time, so no

You could disable spark, unplug coil pack, and crank engine over a few times to see if you can get more fluid out, the 200rpm spinning shouldn't hurt any dry parts

Shops that have a flushing machine(external pump) can get most of the old ATF out
