'09 Sport 4X4 - Hesitation when shifting D to R, R to D, Hard shifting
I am planning on doing a fluid and filter change tomorrow to my 2009 Ranger Sport 4X4. I've been having some issues for some time now with poor shifting during normal use and hesitation when shifting from drive to reverse, or reverse to drive.
I'm experiencing a thud when the tranny shifts during normal driving, though it tends to be more noticeable when I'm accelerating hard. I believe the thud is only noticeable on upshifts.
I did some research about how to actually doing the fluid change and it led me down the rabbit hole of known issues with the transmission in these trucks. I am not certain which type of tranny is in my truck, so I am having a hard time knowing what could be causing this issue. Could this be the valve body gasket, torque converter?
Any input would be much appreciated!
