i have a 96 ranger with a 5 speed manual and i need to replace the tranny is there a heavy duty version or are they all the same?

 

The offer the M50DHD which from what I have read is really a misnomer its not actually any stronger its just got different gear ratios to better handle the extra torque from the SOHC 4.0l. They have been made to fit on the 3.0l but i don't know if its even possible to bolt it up to your 2.3l.
