1993 Transfer case

I have a 1993 Ranger 3.0 4x4 transfer case that I need some advise on. I have it out, losened all bolts, nuts etc but having trouble opening up the case. I am sure everything is lose but.... it is the original, I know, I bought the truck new. Trying to change the chain which is obviously stretched. Any suggestions on how to get it opened up?????

Contacted someone else, my son, we resolved it over the phone thanks for looking here anyway.

You will have to pry the case open; it will not just fall apart.

Welcome.

I suggest you take him up on it. There's a lot of satisfaction to be had pulling Gil's chain...

Although he never finished the thread, there's a lot of good info/pics on the 1354 and taking it apart.

Thanks, I managed to get it, just had to find the right place to pry. Wanted to be careful not to damage it that would increase my costs a lot!

Thanks for the offer, I already had one purchased. All I have to do now is seal it up and fix a minor leak in the tranny and ready to rock and roll again.
