99-01 4x4 AVM Lockouts vs. Explorer Hubs
Looking to get some info on using Expo CV shafts and hubs in a ranger to deal with the vacuum hubs. I currently have the AVM's and have ran them for 3+ years now, they work but they've been making a hell of a racket anytime you've got the wheels turned.
They seem to work still, but i'm just weighing some pro's and con's at this point. There are plenty of CV's in the junkyard by my house, so it would be a matter of getting new hubs for each side of the truck.
Ranger-doing-stuff picture tax.

I've got just a Trac-Loc in the rear. It isn't working as well as I thought it would be for climbing rocks, but the improvement at Silver Lakes was noticeable.

I don't think the ABS plug is the same between the ranger and explorer, but I may be wrong. Other than that though there isn't any other reason that I know of that it wouldn't be a direct swap.
You should get a front locker, for me it made a way bigger difference than the rear locker did.
