1999 2.5l. Is transmission compatible with the newer 2.3?

I have a 07 2.3 duratech motor and harness and all the goodies but the trans. Will the transmission in my 99 bolt up and function properly with the 2.3??

No, 2.3l Duratec pattern is not the same as 2.5l Lima pattern

Ford bellhousing patterns seen here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...using_patterns

Rangers used the 2.3l/2.5l Lima engines until mid year 2001
2001.5 and up Rangers got the 2.3l Mazda L engine, Ford calls it a Duratec, and it used Duratec I4 pattern

Ford also had 1.8l, 2.0l and 2.5l Duratec engine, with same pattern, problem is their transmissions will be for Front wheel drive(FWD) and won't work with a Ranger

You pretty much need a transmission from another 2001.5 to 2012 Ranger 2.3l,
Manual or automatic
