2.3 and 2.9 bell housing compatibly in trany swap
 

i have a 85 ranger 2.3 4*2 it has a m5od that is bad the only rangers that are in my scrap yard are all 2.9 4*2 i dont know what year they are and most of them have a tk5 in them and i would rather have the tk5 my question is are the bell housings the same on a 2.3 and a 2.9 and if not i have a exrta bell housing from a 2.3 tk5 in my shop can i put that on the 2.9 tk5 and mate it to a 2.3 block

let me know if i didnt give a good enuff description of what the question is or if i jumped around to much
