2001 Ranger XLT transfer case replacement

I need help with any advise or instructions on replacing the transfer case

Ahh heck I'll bite.

Remove the transfer case skid plate first if you have one, then unbolt both drive shafts from the case. Disconnect any electronics (there should only be a couple of them). After that there are 6 or 7 bolts holding the case to the back of the tranny, take those out. At this point you should be able to slide the case back and out of the truck with a little persuasion.

It's fairly straightforward and not too difficult of a job. Hope this helps.

x2 its pretty simple to do. I'd drain it first just to make it a little easier to maneuver if you're on your back doing it.
