2007 auto to manual

I have a 2007 Ranger 4x4 and was wondering what it would take to go from auto to manual? I hate auto and wanna switch when the warranty is up. I miss shifting like I did in my tacoma.

Theres probably going to be huge differences with the wiring between 07 and 97. Well actually since he's going to a manual would he just need a new computer so that he doesn't get error codes?

first off, why did you buy a new automatic truck when you wanted a manual truck:shurg:

you will need ALL the same parts i describe in my thread posted above....you will also need a wiring diagram for an '07 so you can figure out what wires in the automatic wiring harness to splice together....

the PCM you will need MUST be out of an '06+ Ranger w/ the same engine and a manual transmission.....

with your truck being an '07, I would trade it for another one...

by the time you pay a dealer to reflash the PCM, you could probably find a wrecked '06+ Ranger and snag the PCM.....

Know what you'll need?

Money, and lots of it.

Trade your 07 in and get a manual.

I asked him the same question on aim last night.

Exactly what i told him to do.

Cory....how about this. sell the truck. Keep your wheels and tires and lights. Get yourself a used like 30k on the clock truck. Remember what i told you i got mine for. Yea...it wasn't new...but it must've been about 65% of what you paid

I just don't see myself getting enough for it. I can understand taking a little bit of a loss but I have a feeling I would be taking a 3-4k loss on selling it. I would have to try to sell it private party since the dealer wouldn't gimme anything for it but I would need close enough to pay it off but for that price i'm sure someone would just wanna spend the extra and buy a new one. uggghhhh

It's a FACT.....once you drive off the lot with a new vehicle, take 15-20% off of what you bought it for and that's what it's worth. It sucks....yea....but they depreciate quite a bit...espicially rangers.

Should have waited for a manual trans back when you bought your truck. imo.
