What Is The Aprox. Cost And What Is Involved With Switch A 2001 Xlt 3.0 2wd To A 4wd?

I have done this on my 99 XLT. Unfortunately you have to use a 4wd frame. The best way is to buy a rolled 4wd and put your body on that frame but then you have to change the wiring harnesses under the hood and behind the dash. Was it worth it? I think so.

Cost depends on what kind of deals you get for the parts you need,and how much of the work you do yourself. Your looking at anywhere between 3-5k .If you need to do this then its time for a sas. I've converted a couple of older Rangers to 4wd and sas on my 01. I say go for it but thats me.Good luck
