3.0 Fan won't come off!!!!

Ok, I've got my Junes efan, and I WANT IT ON MY TRUCK! one small problem.... my stock fan won't come off.... I've twisted and beat and baned and it won't loosen to save it's life...

I put an adjustable wrench on it, and he wrench SLIPPED on the "nut" thing behind the fan blades. It was slipping, and sortof rounding off the metal he nut thing was made of....

What do i do? you guys have never steered me wrong yet... so please help me so I can install my efan please!!

Thanks!!

For a 3.0L, put a long wrench on the nut and smack it clockwise. Or use the Griggs method and hit a corner of the nut clockwise using a hammer and a long cold chisel.

nah, i didnt get the clutch wrench thing... i found an easier way (for me) I removed the belt, and put some of those chain vise grips ont he fan pulley. they wont let it move...

then i put the wrench on it WITH A PIPE and it rounded off the nut thing..... i'll soak it with pb blaster when i get home

To initially get it loose you don't want to pull on it, you want to whack it. Once it is loose, it will unscrew by hand.

I agree. IMO, PB Blaster is much better than other penetrants like Liquid Wrench, for example. Be very careful to keep anything like PBB off of the pulleys and belt. It can cause a ton of trouble down the road.
