3.90-4.10s for 2.3?

this is hypothetical at this point but ive been thinking about finding higher gears for my truck at a junkyard but im wondering how exactly it will effect my acceleration and gas mileage. i figure if im gonna have a slow truck either way i might as well keep my awesome mileage haha

really it depends on what size tire you are going with and how much acceleration you want. i know my buddy has 33s and he runs 4.10s for gas mileage, but if you want acceleration you would wanna go taller and lose a little gas mileage

I've got 4.10's in my Lima ext cab, it actually sounds kinda cool chuggin at 2900 rpm at 65 and still averages about 24 mpg highway (stock 225-70-R14 tires, 26.4" diameter I believe). Even so, its still an absolute pooch and I have to downshift for most hills to hold 65. I imagine with a D tech and reg cab it would be a good bit peppier though.

What gears do you have now?
