no, i took it in for my regular servicing and they said there was a notice put out on 08 clutches. Nothing to do with my setup.

Toreador4x4 Jan 17, 2010 01:46 PM

let me know the reference number for the notice out of curiousity, i see a TSB #09-25-6 on the slave sylinder making noise but i see nothing else trans related

Ok, im taking it in on saturday. It squeaks a lot at low speeds and is tough to shift into first gear from neutral.

08rangerxl Jan 17, 2010 02:07 PM

When i had my 2008, my clutch went out at 13,000 miles. I took it to the dealer, and they fixed it under warranty.

DisturbedESV Jan 17, 2010 02:26 PM

Seriously? I've had mine into the dealer 'cause it's a PITA to get it into 1st or reverse sometimes (same symptoms as you Justin)... they told me there's nothing wrong with it.....

yup same problem as me. They know there is an issue with them.. your ford dealer sucks marie, they screw you around at lot :suspect:

Toreador4x4 Jan 17, 2010 02:59 PM

PM me your vin and i can check for TSB/FSA on your specific vehicle

i fixed mine Marie, i think the marcel in the clutch is bad or there was something not flat..i was driving about 45 MPH and pushed in the clutch until i was about 4500-5000 rpm and heled it there for about 1/4 mile and it has never done it since

Metro55 Jan 17, 2010 08:12 PM

good to see they are replacing it under warranty.. considering your tire size..

if there wasnt a notice out on these clutches i doubt they would be replacing it, but it seems to be affecting many 08's regardless of tire size

Mike's '07 squeals too. I keep bugging him to get them to replace it but he's holding out til near the end of the warranty. Makes sense to me but it sure sounds lame. LR
