depends on what your "stock" tire size is.

if your truck came with 225-70-15's (not sure on this) then you may want to think about going to 4.10's

you can do it, your speedo will be off, it will read slow about 5-7 MPH and the 3.0 will struggle a bit.

would my K&N, aftermarket exhaust and jet kit help that at all or still be slow?

Lol don't trust my opinion. Just messin, like I said the 3.73s will be fine. I doubt you'll notice a major difference with those performance mods since you already have them on there. It MIGHT bring it back to stock but idk for sure. It won't be much difference.

I'll go against the grain and say I would wait. My 4slow was pissed with 32's and 3:73's. I can't imagine a 3.0

I ran my old 3.0 with 32s and 3.73 gearing...no probs on street or offroading...it was already slow to begin with so the extra bog down didnt bother me

no amount of "bolt-on's" are going to compensate for the factory computer "flash"
and will in no way make it feel more "stock"

your speedometer will read slow and you will loose power and fuel mileage.

your going from a 27ish inch tire to a 32 inch tire.

bolt them on and drive it, you will see.

I had 32s with 3.55 on a 4L, and it got old real quick.

It wasn't too bad cruzin' around town, but I didn't like how it couldn't hlod a gear very well in the hills. When I was off road, like in loose sand or in mud, I couldn't turn the 32s near as good as I would like. Sometimes you need an "explosive" burst of power to get going from a stop. The 3.55 struggled, even with the 4.0L. My automatic transmission also suffered through increased heat.

To answer your question, sure you can run it. Some people run way worse combos for the life of their vehicles (like 3.27 and 33s) and dog that particular brand of vehicle because it has "no power!" I was amazed at how many of my friends know absolutely nothing about how tire size and gear ratios affect percievable power, mileage, and speedometer readings.

Remember, your 2wd truck came with P225 70R15 stock. Going to 32" tires will give you an ~16% loss of power and 16% slower speedometer.

I'm the same as Gary^. I thought it would suck, but it really isn't to bad.

I have 31's, ran 3.73's with them for a long time. It wasn't to bad but now I have 4.10's and its amazing now. 3.73's sucked on the highway when there were big hills other wise it wasn't to bad. BUt you'll notice a huge increase in power with the 4.10's.

I think you woudl be safe running them with thsoe gearings.. just make sure you try switchign the gears back later.. You'r REALLY goign to feel the bog down switching from the 27 to 32's... it only gets worse as the engine gets smaller.. and if a 4.0L can feel the difference, I'm sure youll feel it alot more in a 3.0.. considering a 4.0sohc is pushing 200+hp, as opposed to yours around.. 130-140ish

that makes no sense

i think he meant switching TO the 4.10s which i will do eventually. would it be better to run 31's instead of 32's with the 3.73's or will they look small? and how hard is it to swap a rear end?

31s or 32s won't make to big of a difference. If your worried about it just stay with stock and wait until you can get some 4.10s
