It all depends on how it was driven. My last truck lasted until about 130K but about half of that was the previous owner so I'm not sure how she drove. I know I can sometimes be a little harsh on 'em but that truck saw mostly freeway miles.

have about 82 000 miles...asked for old parts parts back, wasn't cheap! lol no expert but think the slave cylinder was a contributing factor.. plate looks ok but clutch looks like fibers coming out of it, should post a pic when i get a chance...after this experience definitely can't sell my truck anytime soon...have WAY too much owing on it now, at least my parents were there for me this time to help out, which is rare for me

I got 40k out of my first slave. Got about 15k out the 2nd. Got about 10k out of the 3rd(trans took a dump). And i'm still running the 4th right now with about 20k on it. Master took a crap at about 75-80k. I wear out hydraulic components way faster than than the disc.

Needless to say...i've gotten really good and fast at dropping that trans. lol.

My first one (slave cylinder) went @ 38K, ruining the clutch & pressure plate w/ it. Cost me $800 2K out of warranty. I'm still about 3/4 pissed off over that. On my second one (just rolled 80K), but i'm starting to get that feeling. I pulled the inspection grommet, and it's dry as gunpowder, but my gut tells me things are about to go wrong in there. The clutch will last a long time if you don't abuse it. On Rangers, the slave cylinder is the limiting factor.

that makes me feel a bit better... just price of repair ( about 1500 cdn) if didn't happen on trip and had time to play with would have gotten my friend to do it instead... imo not one of ford's better ideas to put the salve cylinder inside trans most others are bolted outside.. guess ford's way of making money on labour because trans needs to be dropped to do slave and since trans out might as well do the clutch ( especially on 4x4)

I got 187k and we've never replaced the disc, My dad bought it when it had 60 or so on it, So Whether it was replaced or not I dont know. I'm still driving on that disc though.

my 95 ranger died at 330,000 miles. no joke, the clutch was hardley workin gwhen i got it for free at 318,000 miles, i looked at the clutch and tranny both, never looked replaced, so i feel confident with mine..... how much is a new clutch?
