So when i first bought the Ranger (00 XLT, 4.0L V6) the 4wd wasnt working. after ordering a new selector switch i found out that the current switch was simply unplugged. I replaced it anyway. The 4wd worked for a while and recently i was driving and heard a disgusting crunching noise and upon further inspection i found out that three of the four bearings in my driverside cv axle were missing and was more or less destroyed, also the bearing on the differential " the one that the cv axle slides into" was also destroyed. Awesome learning experience since i had to figure it out on the fly, but now when i try to put it in 4lo or 4hi all i hear is a clicking noise from behind the switch. Where should i begin trouble shooting and how? Sorry for the long story
