i have 1996 ranger 4.0 auto 4x4. the 4wd isnt working. i changed the switch in the dash and the motor on the transfer case and checked the fuses. need help with thus issue?

 

Have you had the truck in the air on jack stands, and confirmed the transmission is not engaging into 4 wheel drive?

Example is the front and rear drive shafts spinning but only the rear axle moves the rear wheels?

Give us something better to work with here, the more information you provide the less we have to guess to fill in the blanks causing us to lead you down the wrong path.

 

the 4wd works if you engage it manually. just not working with the swictch on the dash
