97 Ranger help...

Hi, I just got a 97 range 2wd, 4.0 with a manual trans. 3.55 rear end, standard cab. This little truck runs like a top, and I bought it for 1200$, with only 107,000 miles on it. I am getting a grinding/rumble under heavy acceleraton, particulary in the lower gears under heavy acceleration. The clutch was replaced about 27,000 miles ago, and same with the synchros in the trans. any ideas here? it sounds like its coming from right under the back of the cab, but I know some stuff resonates and being as it only does it under hard acceleration I cant get under it and figure it out. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated. I have tore up rear ends before, and it is nowhere near that severe. I just hope its not trans related! thanks guys.
Nick
