4x4 hubs
Well during our last snow storm i was out doing what i love best. Driving when and were others wont. and i went from 4wd back to 2wd and backed up 4ft or so like usual to ensure my hubs unlock. Then when i got to around 50 mph in drive i heard a bang and the truck kinda shuttered. So like any of us i let out a curse and then pulled over and inspected my chariot. i didnt find any signs of catrophic damage so i continued on my merry way. The following day i got in to go to my g/fs house and i got this horrible grindding/squeek/rubbing noise from my front end. the noise was accompanied by my ABS light comming on. so i jacked it up and rotated each tire. when i rotate my left hub it spins no problem. but the right side requires quite a bit of force and if you rotate it fast enough it will spin the left wheel as well. and about 6 hours later i heard people "jacking deer" from my woods so i jumped into my starnger in took off into the dense snowy forest. and while driving i noticed a horible metal on metal squeek. So thru all of my poking and prying i have troubleshot the problem to be my hub/wheel bearing? and should i be replacing both sides or just the bad side?

well mines an 03 so the hub and bearingg are a sealed unit. And i replaced my passenger side hub today it was clearly bad it had about 1/8 inch of play give or take. and i took it for a test drive and the growling noise is still there. It almost sounds like i have real aggresive swampers on the front but i dont so. could it be the other hub as well or should i be looking in the my differental carrier?
