it sounds like grinding/rubbing on something because i believe its not disengaging completely
but im not going to put it in 4wheel drive until its fixed so it will not grind anymore since ill be in 2wd

The PVH hubs can stick once they get dirty.

ya it must be the hub. it engages but doesnt do a damn thing. ill check the vacuum ball as well

does the 96 have vacuum lines for the 4wd?

brought it into a shop and said that they everythings fine but its sticking cuz i haven't used them but i did use them a few times in the summer when offroading. i was using it and thats when it broke, while engaged it stopped working.

do i only need to buy the hubs and just do a swap? or do i need some other "kit" or something to properly install?
