Complete axle swap

I have a question for y'all I am putting in a ford 9 and a full size D44 in my 83 ranger off road toy I am going to run full spool in rear and a grizzly locker in front. I am thinking of running 36's or 38's I need to find the right gears to turn them with a built 2.8

I'd say either 4.88 or 5.13's... I'd probly go with 5.13 cuz it's a smaller engine and those 38's are big, heavy tires. Go big or go home.

If it is only a toy then 5.13's defiantly.

If its a trail rig, remove the bed and fenders, run 1 tons and 513s and throw some 54" Mickey Thompson stickeys on it. Don't even mess with 1/2 tons.

I was looking at the half tons because I already have them out of my old wheeler a 78 Ford bronco but the thing is I might just keep the 538s it has in them now so that way I don't have to worry I hope I have everything I need to do this if I keep these gears but then that means running the current 42 super swamper Boggers that I have I would like to go with something a little smaller because there are some trails up in the trask where I would be to tall
