Re-gearing

I plan on getting 35s and 20inch rims here shortly and i no im going to need to regear. I plan on running 4.56s but i dont which differential size to get. I have a 2000 ford ranger xlt 4.0. It came stock with 3.73s. Is it a 7.5"?

I'd bet my money that you have the 8.8. Check out East Coast Gear Supply Gears lockers axle shafts differential rear end repair parts sales service tools raleigh durham NC, tell him you saw his link on North Carolina 4x4 Forum and he'll give you a discount. He was a couple hundred dollars cheaper than other people when I priced it out the other day.

Not trying to be sarcastic or anything this is a real question lol. How do you know he is 8.8"? I am stock 99 with 3.73 L/S and I have the 7.5" housing.

Jared, if you want to look for sure open your door look at the door jam sticker and you will see an axle code. Look that up online and you willk now what you have.

Anyways its realy easy to tell, im workin on my rear axle right now, my tag says

"BLAHBLAH88BLAHBLAH410BLAH"

Just seeing "75" or "88" or "410" or "373" or "URAFG" basically lets you know what you have in your rear axle and what size.

In the for sale forum there's a guy selling front 4.56 gears from N or S Carolina
