What to do. gearing and mod

Im seeing that a lot of people are using 3:73 which I just figured out thats what mine already has are 4:10 a big change and does it effect the gas milaege a lot or just a little bit? also I was looking at the thread about all the rear ends and I was reading on the lock right setup does anyone have any personal input on that ? does it still work okay for everyday drive and offroading ? does it effect gas mileage

Thanks
kevin

I have the 4:10 and I will tell you that under heavy acceleration or a jumpy foot, the 4:10 will give less than normal gas mileage. I steady around 14 MPG city and I am a bit jumpy on the gas. The 4:10 is great however for pulling trailers as it has the most torque low-end off the line
