Ok, this just recently started but i have a whining noise. I found one thread but I'm not sure if its the same symptoms.. It whines on acceleration, and deceleration, then a growling noise as well.. It sounds like its coming from directly under the cab..its a 94 and the carrier bearing hasn't been replaced yet..any thoughts??

 

Any kind of vibration?

 

There is no vibration, i got it checked out by a shop..the narrowed the noise coming from my Pinion Bearing inside the differential..ill get more answers on monday.

 

revisiting this thread, all my bearings in the rear end were shot, one of them was torn apart almost, almost needed an axel as well.. I guess 165k miles on a 94 does a good amount of wear and tear.. oh well.. pretty much rebuilt truck now :)
