New Brakes and Slotted Rotors Pictures
Got the New Raybestos Pads on and the ATE slotted rotors. Just in time too, Almost had a big Accident last night stopped about 6" short of a Chevvy thanks to my new brakes.
The Pads arnt that quiet, I heard them sqeek a little when I applied them last night twice but were only $40

that is when they smell the worst, when you are sitting there with the pads touching the rotors. It is actually really bad to that when setting them in. I did mine late at night so i didn't have to deal with other cars and stuff on the road.
My slotted brakes work great! Maybe it is just cause they're new, but the better pads and better rotors are noticable. Most 4x4 guys with huge tires like the better brakes.

The brake pad, and the rotor basically have to cut into each other. Once they cut into each other they kind of fit like puzzle pieces on the very small level of like scratches. Bedding in is basically digging those pads in to the rotors, to basically seat the pads in on those rotors perfectly. Also this is done to heat the rotors up, and basically I suppose let them become harder I believe. I am not too sure, I usually just put them on, and let them just do thier thing. If they dont squeek, they are good, and if they do squeek.. it will go away in time, or just do some hard stops.
The way that I learned this to be done is start by going 20 to 0 hard stopping (but not locking tires up).
Repeat this 3 times.
Go 40 to 0 hard stopping
Repeat 2 times
Go 60 to 0 hard stopping
Go for a highway drive and stay off the brakes, so the rotors dont overheat and warp.

I'd Like to inform everyone else who may do there brakes. dont forget the Locktight on the bolts, I did and today I lost a bolt while driving and it made the wheel lock right up.
Ironicly enough Police were following me at the time and pulled me over becuase my wheels were squeeling. Duhh
Got a new bolt and locktight'd all of them. good to go again.
And Yes once you bed them in they hook up like unreal comparied to stock. When to slam on the brakes it throws you forward hard, and pushed your stomache right up! I'd suggest chaning pads and rotors to everyone at least a good set of pads and bed them in right.
