ABS Light

Hey All,

The ABS light has been on in my truck for a few months now and I was wondering if anyone else has had this same issue and how they fixed it. I had the code pulled and it is C1096 = Hydraulic Pump Motor Circuit Open. I have read on line that this can be a wiring problem. So I got the connector at the ABS pump off and inspected the terminal and wires and everything looks good and clean. So is my only option to replace the ABS pump $$$$$$$ and see if that fixes the problem?

Truck info : 2005 Ford Ranger EDGE 4X4 4.0L V6 Automatic and extended cab if that matters.

Thanks,

Dave

Inspect the vacuum hose going to the ABS motor.

My 2000 had a bad vacuum hose and the new one made a big difference.

No idea how the newer ones work, but worth looking for the easy cheap stuff.
