Brake suggestions
Ford says my Front pads are 90% worn, Duhhh! I told them the brakes are hooking up funny and have poor braking SO
while my truck was at Ford they wanted either
99 For pads
49.99 to machine each stock rotor
Or
99 for pads and
140 for drilled rotors
Pretty much told them to shove there motorcraft pads.
So what are you opions on the HAWK pads, which ones are the best of the 3?
Is there a place to buy them cheap locally or should I oder through summit and get raped by shipping to canada.
Here's the 3 types
HP super duty http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
HPS http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
LTS http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Im thinking about these rotors to go with them, Does anyone know how these hold up and how they are off road and stuff compared to OEM?

I ran the Hawk HPS pads for a good while.....BUT...created alot of brake dust and started to squeel after about 20k.
Right now I'm running Stoptech slotted rotors with Posi Quiet pads. Got 'em from ModBargains for about $300 shipped and they perform GREAT! Very very low brake dust and I noticed a very good improvement in stopping these 35's. I went from new cheapo pads w/ resurfaced rotors to slotted rotors and new pads. There was a difference.
IMO...if you are running stockish tires, no need for slotted and/or drilled rotors. Those prices quoted are REDICULOUS!

Drilled rotors just cool better I believe.
To be honest, I had alot of problems with ford doing my brakes... they are really simple to do yourself and WAY cheaper. I had my front brake rotors turned and motorcraft pads put on and I left witha 375$ bill. They lasted all of about 20k miles before the rotors were so warped it was just annoying to use the brakes.
I went to NAPA and they have really nice rotors in my opinion. They were reasonable about 100 dollars for both and they were well surfaced, and good quailty I thought.
I would stay away from the motorcraft pads, to me they left my rims black constantly with brake dust which irritates me beyond belief. I put napa pads on.. but I wouldnt do they they squeek from time to time. Go to with the Wagner pads at advanced. I put them on a F350 turbo diesel for my father and they are beautiful pads. They outproform the motorcraft ones, have no brake dust, are ceramic, and have a lifetime warrantee! you wear them down you get free pads.
Tell ford to shove it with redicilous costs of motorcraft parts. grrrrr. I'm very upset with my ford dealer as you can tell... they have r**ed me time and time again :(.

I'm sure you can order them online. I have to say they were nice looking pads, no dust, good stopping, man I must say one product I am happy with.
You could try ebay, they are on there. Ask your autostore for them... im sure they can order them for you. Hell I like them so much if you sent me a money order I would buy them for you and ship them to you, they are that good.
Or maybe try EBC pads I hear they are great too... you can order those online allover the place they are like 80 a set I think for the greenstuff pads. They are liek racing pads basically... but my idea is if you use a performance part on regular applications they usually last really long... or sometimes they just suck.
