Another drive shaft Question`

A member on here came to me asking me about the manal tcase swap. He has a 98 plus style drive shaft and the new manual tcase is a dual carbon style case. Is it possible for a dual carbon shaft to work with the 98 plus front diff?

So in simple terms will a 97 below front drive shaft fit a 98 plus truck?

Im trying to sell him an extra front shaft i have an told him i would ask.

Thanks Guys

Nope. The dome CV style joint is the issue. The 97 and older trucks had universals at both ends. In the 98+ they're CV on one end and universal on the other.

He needs to spend the money and get a superlift shaft if he's lifted. It adapts to the trasnfer case with a double cardon style joint up top and a universal at the bottom.

yeah what Trevor said.....if he has a 98+ transfer case the output end of it has a beveled dome connection. 97 and below front driveshafts have a DUAL CARDON style. Meaning exactley what trevor said it has 2 unversal joints on one end, and a single one connecting to the front diff:

The top driveshaft is 98+ Front driveshaft
The bottom driveshaft is a 97 and below

This is what he needs:

I see my work has been done here. lol.

/fyi....the black shaft in top pic is the same shaft as in bottom pic, but shortened to fit with the adaptor on the 98+ tcase, and painted.
