Icon8 transmission blew/set on fire

well riding over to my buddys house about err roughly a hour ago i was cruising behind him going 45 next thing you know i smell smoke and i check all my temps to make sure everything was alright well everything was fine then i see smoke pouring outta my hood i look outta my window to see a big orange light coming from under my truck well at this point i knew i didnt have cheesy lil underglows so it must be on fire then i heard the most horrific sound ive heard in a while a loud and destructive smashing and cracking noise from under my truck i slam on breaks and slap my truck in park throw on the flashers grab my wallet and skoal call my buddy to tell him my trucks on fire he turns around and sticks with me till the fire department and tow truck got their well turns out the transmission that just got rebuilt a month ago and i just got it checked last week cuz it was acting weird but the tranny guys swore up and down nothing was wrong with it.. well better words i cracked the bell housing snapped my drive shaft in 3 pieces god only knows what all electronics melted under my truck since it was on fire for nearly 30 minutes due to all the transmission fluid spewing out onto my hot exhaust im not too happy right now and would seriously love to have a punching bag to beat the hell out of cuz im just in that kind of mood my dad thinks it was the torque converter that locked up or blew up... and i had this annoying old man stop and kept jabberin on in my ear saying my rearend locked up and i told him to f off cuz it wasnt my fn rearend but yea story of my night was fun almost lost my pride and joy... ill let yall know the details of the damage tomorrow after i speak with glen who owns the transmission shop

yea i have one too bad my jack.... friends stole it to put out a fire at a party one night and i tried to use it and it didnt do crap... their was no under hood fire it was all transmission none of it reached that high and at this point i wish it would have burnt to the ground cuz im just that sick and tired of it breaking when i dont even drive it rough.. and the fact that the transmission guys tell me its fine a week earlier realy makes me mad.. but theyl get to order me a brand new transmission for this and i wonder if their warranty covers other parts that may have been damaged in the fire

Dude, figure this. You get a practivly brand new truck now. That shop that you got it fixed at is going to have to fix EVERYTHING. That is if your insurance comany does total it. You could sue that place considering they put your life in danger. I mean your truck caght on fire, thats not a little opps I forgot to add a quart kind of ****.

I would be furios then I'd think about all the money I'd be sueing for and that frown would turn upside down. A. they put my life in serious dnager because they lazy, B. I've now lost time at my job that will need to be paid for, C. My vehicle will now most likely be totaled and will need replacing and I shouldn't have to pay anything considering the neglect of work done on it. So cheer up, its all going to work.

I wasn't slamming on that, just making a comment.

I know how it feels, my buddies truck actually caught on fire. One of the fuel lines broke when we were wheelin, and the whole thing went up.

That is crazy man. Things will work out though. A new truck is probably going to be in the works. Plus some sort of compensation for the physical damage that could have occured

thanks for the opinion but i dont care for none of that since im typing on a forum.. its not like someone is grading me on how proper my typing skills are but dont take this as a offence because im just saying i dont care for it..

besides that their going to take the transmission out tomorrow the bell housing has a 3-4in gap all the way around it from were it cracked the transmission guy is trying to say it was my drive shaft but i told him hes full of and that if he wasn't going to warranty the damage that was caused because of his crappy transmission job then id take it somewhere else get them to put a brand new one in it with a shift kit ect.. that i paid for in the beginning and sue him for the costs of repairs and the tow truck cost ect...

he didn't argue with me hes already ordered a brand new transmission and driveshaft but hes still being a ***** about whether hes going to warranty it and pay for the damages and if he fixes and gives me a bill im gonna get my dad to call a lawyer because im gonna sue the holy hell out of them
