Anyone have the mbrp turndown?
Looking into this setup, I want the pipe to exit before the rear tires, so I was wondering where the turndown is in terms of how far back from the front it is.
I'm thinking if it's far back enough, just install the pipe sideways, instead of down, and just extend it. So just curious if anyone can take a picture of it or somethin. |
Here's what it looks like. I don't see an over-axle pipe, so it dumps ahead of the axle.
https://mbrp.com/products/images/med/S5224409.jpg You could turn the tip towards the side of the truck, or get a piece of properly sized pipe pre-bent at a 45 or 90 to side dump it in front of the rear tire. https://mbrp.com/index.php?page=products&part=S5224409 |
yeah i know it dumps before the axel, just dont know where lol, if its a foot before the axel, 2 foot, half a foot, etc. wanna know so i know how much extra pipe i need.

I ordered it today. If you can wait a week or so I'll post pics for you.

$260. I got it from amazon, Mbrp's site has it for an extra $70+. I'm all about supporting canada. But for $70 I'll support em from the good old' US of A.
I even pm'd them on GL4x4 asking them to price match their own product. That was a week or two ago. They haven't checked in. |
Well that sucks they didn't get back to you. At least you're still buying Canadian in a roundabout way!
|
Feels like a reach around way...
|
haha good price, is that the stainless steel one?
and i can wait for pics, not doing mine for at least two weeks. |
Well i mean seriously how silly is it that US customers can buy a Canadian product cheaper then a Canadian can. Especially when our dollar is so close in value to theirs. I don't get it?

they're made in canada, but cost WAY more to buy here, thousands more. just the way it is! MBRP is a site vendor over at the raptor forum im on, hoping maybe i can get it a touch cheaper from him. |
Whatevs. We get raped for things. I got two pairs of addidas shell toes for $100 in detroit over here, $89 each. Yea I ordered the SS one.
Jarrett, that's what I was hoping for on GL4x4. I just got impatient and ordered. |
yeah i get impatient sometimes to haha. but hes around a lot on there since theyre finalizing their raptor system, and getting feedback from the members on what they wanna see, so hopefully he responds in a timely matter.
they got so many epic vendors over there, MBRP, Roush, Rigid, King Shocks, many more. so many good deals on stuff haha. why doesnt this site have vendors n stuff? |
We have ORW or did. I hope with the new owners things stay the same but I also wouldn't mind some aftermarket sponsors. However, we never got much of an aftermarket to begin with

Pics will be up tomorrow at some point. The kit took 30-45 mins to install. Including removal of old exhaust. We (rob and I) lifted the rear, removed shock, unbolted (rob grinded) the flange bolts, installed and snugged everything down.

https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1335186433 http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/efed9ccd.jpg Ok, it dumps right at the rear shock. The kit is very simple to install and reuses the front two rubber hangers and a hole on the frame for the rear. I left my rear rubber on cus it's not doing any harm. |

oops...
if so how does it compare to this one soudwise? (i know, all cameras sound different so its hard to tell) just wondering on the sound difference between the turndown, and the traditional exit behind tire sertups |
Sounds pretty good.
|
Nope thats not mine. i have a 06 xlt 2wd, and i dont have this exhaust. im still debating if i wanna bother with an exhaust.
|
I don't have experience w/ a side exit, I'm assuming there is less resonation since the exhaust isn't pointed at the street. I can tell you that it's a little louder then the video shows.
