Anyone thinking about regrearing

Ok well I was watching trucks on how to regear and they cleared it all up for me. I know now how to do it and when I finally get the money to regear the front axle of my truck I think that I could do it without any problems really.

So for anyone thinking about regearing watch the trucks episode it will clear it all up.

you shouldnt **** on his parade just yet, if he payed attention to the show and listened to when stacy said to check the backlash pinion depth tooth pattern then he should be fine. as long everything is done within torque specs. and if does get stuck theres TONS of writeups that he could find on the net, and us that could help...lol

Setting up gears is an art. You'd probably be better off setting up your first set of gears on something you don't depend on. But props to you if you pull it off, its been done successfully by first timers before.

Good luck. I have seen someone do 3 sets of gears. It is not hard at all.

well I don't need the front gears for my truck to drive. My front axle doesn't alway spin like the newer ones so when I'm out of 4wd nothing spins up there. But thanks and I hope I do pull it off. I'm really pissed that its taking me so long, work sucks and isn't giving me any hours so I'm stuck dealing with it.

Umm I hope you don't plan to use the 4wd if you are not going to change the gears in there also. If you have different ratio gears in the axles and put it in 4x4...boom goes the transfer case.

I think he is changing the front gears to match his rear gears. Well thats what I think. I've done it before but under the careful of a 30 year veteran ford technician haha. Good luck. If you have any trouble or think somethings wrong always ask.
