aussie locker??
I found one for 240 bucks plus shipping and i have some?s about them i have manual hubs so that wont be problem for when im in 2wd but say i need to drive on the highway in 4wd will this cause any problem like if its snowy and i have that in. will it help me get around better in the snow i dont offroad much but i was almost stuck to many times this winter and i got stuck last weekend offroading and if i would of had the front locked i would of been fine. so will this b ok to have for on the highway and snowy roads where you need 4wd and stuff like that?

on packed snow it will not be your friend. its gonna drive way different. that is all im saying.
I am going to be driving on snow with 37s locked front and rear with 4wd engaged its just a learning curve. i dont really care how good it does on the road.
What tires are you running? Maybe that would be a better investment than a front locker? Just throwing out ideas.

id be carfull with the locker, stock parts tend to break when locked.. just take it easy if your stuck... especialy locking the front..
i seem to get ervery ware i need to go with both front and rear opend but i do have problems doing some hillclimbs, im hard on my tranny i know if i lock the front im gona break somthing, im even hesitent about locking the rear...
after some 33's and a lift ill think about it but right now i cant risk breaking somthing offroading, this is my DD.. and ask the guys i go wheeling with my truck holds its own very well.. id say get an LSD but you will mostlikly be disapointed if you do alot of offroading..

The above assumes that your front tire diameters and inflation are very close to the same. If the rolling diameter of one side is even slightly smaller than the other, you will have a significant constant pull to that side under power.
I had severe pull until I measured around my tires and picked a pair with matching circumferences for the front. I no longer get the continuous pull but the momentary pull is still there when it locks on accel.
My tires are all the same nominal size and type but they have noticeably different wear due to a couple of warranty replacements at different times. So, there are basically three different diameters present - this makes tire rotation difficult with the front locker because there is only one pair that matches closely enough to use up front.

well i cant aford the 1600 for the 6 inch lift i want. that is after college.
thanks guys for all your responces since i do have manual hubs i think im guna end up getting one this summer. i like the idea of point the wheels where to go and they will go there.

Get a rear locker before you bother with a front, especially if you don't offroad much.
I have only had a few chances to use my front locker since I installed it, but the average driver wouldn't like it. I haven't had it in the snow with the front locker.
The rear, however, is great. I love the way it works on snow and ice, but it takes getting used to.

for me, I plan on getting an aussie locker for the front. When I have to drive in the snow I'm only going to lock one of my front hubs if I can't drive with both locked. I know people say it puts more stress on it and such but I'm only going to be driving on the road in the snow. Not beating on it or anything.

MAX TIRE SIZE
TORSION BARS
WHAT LIFT
WHAT TIRE
You would be very wise to not run your truck locked in 4wd on an icey road .
