Aussie Locker Install

I'm about to install the aussie locker into the sport trac, in the rear 31 spline 8.8".
I found a write up and it looks pretty strait-forward, but...
Has anyone in here personally installed an Aussie locker? Any tips or tricks, or hang-ups I should be aware of?

Here's a link to the write-up;

I have never installed an aussie locker but i have installed a powertrax no-slip, which are very similar to eachother. It really didn't take me that long to do it and the directions that came with the no-slip were pretty straight forward. I think it took me about an hour for the actual install and then i let the gasket adhesive sit for a while before i filled it up with fluid!

I have installed one in the front and it was fairly easy once the diff housing was removed. The rear can be done in the truck but I'm sure you'll need to pull the C-clips and axles. Use the factory instructions because they will tell you how to verify that the installed clearances are within spec. The Aussie warranty is void if you don't.

Hey, I need some quick help. We cannot get the right side c-clip off, have been trying for an hour with no luck. It will rotate around the axle but can't get it off. Not enough clearance between the side gear I guess. Getting desperate for a new idea to remove it.

Sometimes you need to push the axle shafts in a bit to take the clips out and then pull the shaft out.

lol, yeah I know, thanks. We had the tire off, calipers off, and pushed and pried for over an hour before I "coaxed" it out with a couple screwdrivers and a mallet.
It's done now though!

Well all's well that ends well!
