auto hub problomes i think ..

I have a 89 regular cab 4x4 ... when u push the button in the cab to activate the 4 wheel drive it will go about 15 feet before making a racket and boging down like the front passnger tire has its brakes on.. if you turn off the 4 wheeldrive and back up alittle it drives just fine with no noises.. I pulled it into the shop and put it on the lift to take a look. in the air i had a friend activate the 4by4 and slowly spin the tires in 1st gear.. there seemes to be nothing binding and the cvc shafts seem tight... I want to put manual lockouts on it anyway ,,, so im thinking that the auto hubs are messing up so its time to install the manual ones .. a friend of mine has a early 90s explorer that was rear ended less then 300 miles after he installed manual hubs on it and he said that if they will work i could have them ... I just need to get the truck going agian before it snows..

I don't think your problem is in your hubs, but change em anyway, manual is better
