07 Front drive axle whine

Got a whining from the front left axle as I speed up and slow down. Though maybe it was the wheel bearing but it is always cool to the touch. It is not the tires.

9 months ago the dealer replaced the front axle seal and Im wondering if they did something to it. It has very slowly gotten louder.

I'm thinking now it may be the CV joint/axle. Is there a way to check this axle without taking it apart? How hard is it to change out the whole axle?

Thanks
