auto to manual tranny on an 04 SOHC engine

guys need your help.

would any manual tranny from any 4.0 engine (SOHC or OHV) mate to my 04 SOHC engine?

I'm looking trough the junk yards looking for one, I haven't found any yet, but if I do and it's from an earlier OHV 4.0, will it fit onto mine?

I imagine the T-case will also fit on it right?

I have searched this forum and several others, but no one says anything about the compatibility.

any one has any idea?

Your t-case will work, but you should get a SOHC 5 speed. If you get an OHV 5-speed, one ht the bellhousing bolts will not line up. You will need a PCM, pedals, floor plate, steering column trim, shifter, and change alot of wiring for the transmission range sensor and clutch position sensor under the dash

Lengthy read, yes. But nearly totally covers everything you'll need to know. The only iffy spot is the fact that your 04+ has different wiring than 03 and older trucks. And as Justin said above, you'll want the 01+ SOHC 4x4 trans. Not only because it'll actually bolt-up to your engine, but because you need the speed sensor in the trans tailhousing. 00 and earlier 4.0 trans don't have the speed sensor in the trans. All 01+ read their speed from the trans.
