5.8 Tranny, will it blend?
I've found a Bronco being parted out, it has a 5.8 which I know is small block, will the bellhousing and splines match up where I can pretty much direct swap it into the Ranger?
I have a 91 302 out of a Fox for those who don't know.
I know I sound like a n00b, but this Ranger project is the first Ford 4x4 I'm building on my own, so theres alot of gray areas.
The Chevy stuff is easy in most cases everything fits everything.

ALL small blocks have the same bellhousing....period. a 302 is a 302 and a 351 is a 351 reguardless of what it is in.
with a c4 you could get a big flexplate or small flexplate determined by the number of teeth on it, same with the AOD but the short block is the same. Depending on the year it could have different heads from a car to a truck but the bolt pattern is not different
i would rather eat a bowl of razorblades than swap an E4OD transmission from the bronco into anything

Alright, well I found a 1356 Auto combo out of a 96 F150 for $100, it's electric, meh but $100. I found a rebuilt 1356 manual for $200. so I'm set, If it'll all work. I know the tcase swap would be nothing, my main problem is the right flexplate, tc, bellhousing combo.
So I'll be alright bolting this up? Maybe this is as easy in Ford land as it is in Chevy land.

Screw the blendtec guy I want to see a video of this.
I had a f150 with the e40d in it, which went out and was rebuilt by the dealer. Got the truck back and either they did it wrong or I blew it up on the test ride. I drove about a mile to a nice twisty road, got up to 30 or coming out of a corner I drop the hammer. Truck downshifts nice and hard then the rear tires lock and I spin out. Still had first gear to drive back to the dealer. Truck had maybe 40k on it, I believe it was a tow pig for an old guys boat.
